Introduction
It seems to be a common practice that when someone bought a house, they will engage a Fengshui Master after they gotten the key to the house or unit. However, this actually limit the effectiveness of tapping into the good Qi of the place.
The purpose of Fengshui-ing a place is to harness the Sheng Qi (Growth Qi) of the house/location to benefit the occupants. To do that, it has to conform to 天时, 地利, 人和 (Heaven, Earth and Man) . 天时or Heaven Time is choosing a good date and time to activate. 地利or Earth is choosing a good location that match the person. 人和or Man is using the person birth info to match the Heaven and Earth.

How the Heaven, Earth and Man being matched
Firstly, the birth date and time of the occupants are obtained and verified. Verification is to ensure that the correct birth date/time and correct chart is generated. From here, the occupant Qi Men Dun Jia Bazi chart is generated. Once the chart is generated, the good direction of occupants can be determined.

Using the sample report as example, this person should choose a house that is sitting East and facing West. More refined selection could be finding a house that is at the East side of the city or country; to fully maximized the Fengshui information.
Next the person should go on house hunting, to find the good sitting/facing house. Once the house is found, the Fengshui master need to go onsite to confirm the direction.
After the sales is done and key collected, the Fengshui master will go onsite for detailed audit. He/she will choose a good date/time to start renovation. Again, this date and time is chosen to match the house sitting/facing and the occupant bazi chart. The purpose of choosing a good date and time for renovation is to make sure the renovation process is smooth and also to benefit the occupants in long run.
In addition, the Fengshui master will prescribe the remedy or enhancement for occupants. This includes bed direction, room colour information as well as Fengshui remedy if any.
A Fengshui report shall be provided to help the occupants with the information, including the information of move-in date/time.
Last but not least, the occupants will perform the move-in ceremony to activate the Heaven-Earth-Man to harness the Sheng Qi of the place.
Summary
In the nutshell, choosing a date/time for action is part of 天时or Heaven Time. However, this is not simply choosing a good date and time. This date and time must match and benefit the house as well as the occupants. Likewise, 地利or Earth is selecting a house that matches the occupants birth date and time. So, all three elements must work hand in hand to ensure Sheng Qi or Growth Qi can be harness.
